Replacement and Servicing of Four 38-Ton Hydraulic Presses for Hortex

Replacement and Servicing of Four 38-Ton Hydraulic Presses for Hortex

SM Industry successfully completed a technically complex
project for Hortex, involving the replacement of four
hydraulic presses, each weighing 38 tons. The project
scope included full dismantling of the equipment,
transportation to a service centre for technical
maintenance, and subsequent reinstallation at the Hortex
production facility. In the first stage, SM Industry
dismantled all four presses, moved them outside the
building, organised the loading operations, and
transported the presses to the service centre. After the
service works were completed, the presses were delivered
back to the site and precisely reinstalled in their
designated working positions. A key challenge of this
project was the limited space conditions: restricted
ceiling height, minimal manoeuvring space for equipment,
and no possibility to use large heavy lifting cranes. The
presses were installed on 1.2-metre-high foundations,
which required specialised lifting solutions and precise
work coordination. All tasks were completed thanks to the
high professionalism and experience of the SM Industry
team. A crew of six qualified specialists was engaged in
the project. Each dismantling and reinstallation cycle for
one press took approximately four days. The overall project
duration depended mainly on the waiting time for the
equipment to return from the service centre. Despite this,
all work was delivered safely, on time and to a high
standard — once again proving SM Industry’s capability to
execute technically challenging projects in complex
industrial conditions.
